12-15 March 2013
Expo Centre, Nasrec, Johannesburg, South Africa
An exciting forum for trading, sourcing of products and obtaining latest news on global trends, advancements in technology and product development - a must for all stakeholders in the Food Processing, Packaging and Labelling industries.
Propak Africa together with Print Expo, Pro-Plas Africa Expo, Pro-Label Africa and FoodPro, is the largest and most successful packaging, food processing, labelling, printing and plastics exhibition held on the African continent, an event that skilfully harnesses the synergy and strengths of the various inter-linking industries.
At the highly successful 2009 show, many of the largest, most progressive players in these industry sectors took part, showcasing latest global trends, technology advancements, new products, systems and services, and the important role these industries play in the production and marketing of products.
Exhibitors at previous shows have consistently described the experience as a good return on investment and were delighted with the high-calibre quality of visitors and the high number of machinery and equipment sales off stands.
The exhibition attracts local and international buyers from all over Africa and beyond. Visitors cited the benefits of attending the event as seeing "cutting edge technology and trends on display", "an ability to source new suppliers", "able to obtain latest industry information and knowledge", "great educational value, specifically product demonstrations", "the availability of a wide variety of exhibitors", and "an interesting and exciting event." 27% felt that companies that had not participated had done themselves a disservice.
Although the basic function of packaging is to preserve and protect the pack contents, packaging - particularly in the retail market - has become a fascinating marketing tool that is used to promote and sell products, moving them from shelf-to-trolley. Although packaging remains an essential part of modern life - allowing people to consume fresh, uncontaminated food and beverages wherever they want in the quantities needed - once it has performed its function, packaging can become cumbersome waste. New technologies enabling the packaging industry to reduce mass without compromising the basic function of the pack, recycling innovations, new designs and materials will all be showcased at Propak Africa
FoodPro will showcase all aspects of the food processing industry; Pro-Label Africa will highlight new technologies, innovative products, state-of-the-art equipment, research findings and legislative requirements around labelling.
Almost three-quarters of the visitors at
Propak Cape 2008 went there to update
on new developments – products, trends
and technologies – and to meet potential
new suppliers. A high percentage of
visitors were owners or Directors of
businesses who certainly came with
decision-making authority. The driving
reasons for visitors attending the expo
included it being a highly regarded
prestigious event, knowledgeable
people on the stands, and the ability to
see so many exhibitors together, which
assisted in the decision-making process.
Exhibitions are an excellent, resultsdriven
opportunity that make good
business sense. Exhibiting at Propak
Africa 2013 will be the most cost-effective
way to reach the greatest number of
decision-makers in your specific market
in the shortest space of time.
Propak
Africa 2013 will provide an
opportunity to meet, interact and
gain exposure to your customers and
to compete for your market share. A
strong marketing campaign will ensure
that quality visitors involved with
food processing, packaging, printing,
labelling and plastics will be invited to
attend the event, drawn from
supplying and manufacturing in the
food and beverages, fruit and farming,
pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, toiletries
and personal care products, packaging,
printing and converting, manufacturing,
plastics manufacturing and other related
sector industries.
Visitors will include retailers and
wholesalers, as well as buyers and
specifiers responsible for purchasing
decisions, such as directors, general
managers, technologists, production
executives, food, packaging and
production personnel and scientists,
quality controllers, chemical engineers,
farmers, product managers, laboratory
technicians, printers, production managers and sales and marketing
personnel.
Manufacturers and suppliers will be
exhibiting products, systems and
services, which visitors can use in the
production and marketing of their
products, including:
