Founded in 1987 with its head office in Elandsfontein Johannesburg, CHC
Polymerworld also has offices and warehousing in Durban, Cape Town and
Port Elizabeth.
In addition to supplying high quality local support in terms of processing
assistance, trouble shooting and material validation, CHC Polymerworld
is able to provide definitive, predictive advice on component and mould
geometry via its acquisition of the Moldex suite of flow analysis software
whereby the part geometry in particular wall thickness can be optimised
to match the material specification. At the mould design stage feed points
can be positioned, runner systems optimised and cycle times established
for accurate costing. There is a materials database of 5600 grades and
the ability to create material models via PVT data.
In the event that the customer might wish to acquire the software CHC
is the appointed agent distributor for Moldex in Southern Africa and would
supply and provide the support locally.
To address the shortage of toolmaking facilities locally, CHC is able
to quote for and supply moulds from its principal ENL based in Taiwan
and mainland China. Moulds are manufactured to exacting standards and
compare favourably in quality to those produced in Western Europe with
the big advantage being the short delivery times coupled with extremely
competitive pricing.
